(AJ) Abbasi
Product Designer
inception
Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been obsessed with the relationship between form and function. Whether it was folding origami or sketching cartoons, I was always making things with care and intention.
But years later, I found myself lost, wondering why I was studying software engineering in undergrad. Coding felt cold. It wasn’t fulfilling. And I wasn’t very good at it either. Luckily, I stumbled upon design — and everything changed. It blended logic and creativity in a way that finally made sense. I had found my north star.
odyssey
It hasn’t been the easiest journey, but I’m still here, still designing. Why? Because I love creating products and things that look and feel cool while solving real problems.. I’m endlessly curious and try to learn something new about product design every day from designers who inspire me.
TENET
My approach to design is simple: every decision should serve a purpose. When that intent is paired with thoughtful storytelling and a high level of craft, you get experiences that are not only beautiful, but memorable & user-friendly.
I design on intuition and iterate on data. I do the bulk of my work in Figma. I use v0 for conceptual prototyping, and when I want to demonstrate the real feel of a product, I build interactive flows in ProtoPie. I sometimes use Jitter to hand-off delightful animations. I’m also exploring motion design, learning After Effects, and Rive to add a new dimension to my work.
memento
Outside of design, you’ll find me doing calisthenics, learning new languages, obsessing over cinema, or hanging out with my design friends on Discord — trading insights, feedback, and the occasional meme. I read a bit, too.
I’m currently looking for full-time product design roles. If you’re hiring — or just want to chat design — hit me up on any of the platforms below.
Appreciate you reading this far!
Take care,
